NIAID International Research in Infectious Diseases (IRID) Program (R01): -Purpose. Applications may be submitted by institutions or organizations that are located in foreign (non-U.S.) resource-constrained countries ((i.e. low-income economies, lower-middle-income economies, and upper-middle-income economies by World Bank definition: http://www.worldbank.org/data/countrydata/countrydata.html.) U.S. Institutions (located in the U.S. or in a foreign country) are not eligible to apply; foreign laboratories associated with organizations based in other high-economy countries are also not eligible to apply.
