NIDA Research Education Program for Clinical Researchers and Clinicians (R25 Clinical Trial Optional): The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research education activities in the mission areas of the NIH. The over-arching goal of this NIDA R25 program is to support educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nations biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs. This FOA is intended to support research education activities that enhance the knowledge of substance abuse and addiction research. The program is intended for those in clinically focused careers and/or those training for careers as clinicians/service providers, clinical researchers or optimally a combination of the two. This mechanism may not be used for support of non-research-related clinical training. To accomplish the stated over-arching goal, this FOA will support creative educational activities with a primary focus on Courses for Skills Development and Research Experiences.
