National Energy Technology Laboratory Grant: This is a Funding Opportunity Announcement in Support of Advanced Fossil Resource Utilization Research by Historically Black Colleges and universities and Other Minority Institutions (HBCUs/OMIs). The intent of the HBCU/OMI Research and Development (R D) Program within the Office of Fossil Energy (FE), U. S. DOE, as set forth in the Program Framework and Program Policy Statement, is to establish a mechanism for cooperative FE R D projects between DOE and the HBCU/OMI community; to foster private sector participation, collaboration, and interaction with HBCU/OMI in FE R D; to provide for the exchange of technical information to raise the overall level of HBCU/OMI competitiveness with other institutions in the field of FE R D; to enhance educational and research training opportunities for tomorrows scientists by developing and supporting a broad-based research infrastructure; and to a position HBCU/OMI graduates to assume mainstream leadership and technical roles in Americas FE commerce.
