The American Center welcomes grant applications for extended training courses and programs at the American Corner in Kandy linking with other areas of the country. The programs will develop interactive training classes to develop skills in Youth Leadership, Public Speaking, English Education, STEM Skills (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Makerspace, Arts & Culture, Entrepreneurship, among others. These programs will promote ethnic/religious reconciliation and gender equality, provide sustainable economic growth through entrepreneurship and job skills training, foster media freedoms and promote transparency, and strengthen environmental protection.

Additional Information on Eligibility
Grant proposals will be accepted from not-for-profit, non-governmental organizations, think tanks, and academic institutions in three primary categories based on funding levels. Successful proposals will impact one of the issues highlighted above. In evaluating proposals, emphasis will be placed on the size of the budget, experience of the grantee on implementing interactive programs, and diversity of audiences affected by the program. Organizations should have at least two years of programming experience that should be documented in the proposal. A copy of the organization’s registration certificate should be provided with the proposal application.Program locations should primarily include Kandy and Jaffna and can cover other areas such as Southern, Eastern and Central regions of the country including Colombo. This is category 2.
