Notice of Intent: Frijoles Mesa Excavation: Bandelier National Monument seeks to cooperatively investigate the nature of archeological deposits at site LA060339 on Frijoles Mesa. Limited test excavation within the site is proposed to examine and determine the integrity of the entirety of the site. The project implemented under this agreement would complete the fieldwork necessary for the park to move forward with management decisions relating to ongoing operational use and development of the area. The University of New Mexico, Office of Contract Archeology (UNM/OCA) seeks to educate undergraduate and graduate students in archaeological field methodology and site management, including archeological excavation and evaluation.
