Notice of Intent to Award Pipestone Demonstrator Program: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD FY12 PROJECT: This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service's (NPS) intention to fund Pipestone National Monument's Demonstrator Program. The National Park Service and the Recipient will act in concerted manner to create an awareness of Indian Culture. Primary emphasis will be one the preservation of the pipestone pipe making culture and the perpetuation of other forms of pipestone carving representative of Indian Cultures. Up to three American Indian cultural demonstrators will provide an interpretive/education program at Pipestone National Monument. An acceptable interpretation/education program will enhance and increase visitor understanding and appreciation of the contemporary and historic Indian use and significance of the pipestone quarries. The National Park Service will be substantially involved in fulfilling the tasks and objectives of the project.
