Notice of Intent to issue Funding Opportuntity Announcment on behalf of DOE's Office of Fossil Energy (FE) entitled "Engineering-Scale Testing and Validation of Algae-Based Technologies and Bioproducts": DE-FOA-0002454 is a Notice of Intent for Funding Opportunity Announcement Number DE-FOA-0002403 entitled "Engineering-Scale Testing and Validation of Algae-Based Technologies and Bioproducts". Potential projects are expected to focus on the development of novel research and development of algae-based technology to utilize carbon dioxide from power systems or other industrial sources as a feedstock. Technologies that convert carbon dioxide must show a net decrease in carbon dioxide emissions through life cycle analysis, show a potential to generate a marketable product, and show that the product displays beneficial aspects when compared to commercially available products produced with existing state of the art technology.
