Notice of Request for Proposals for Tribal Air Grant Initiative to be Funded from the Region 5 Air & Radiation Division (ARD) FY 2005 Allocation: Under Section 103 of the Clean Air Act, projects may be funded to ?conduct, and promote the coordination and acceleration of, research, investigations, experiments, demonstrations, surveys, and studies relating to the causes, effects (including health and welfare effects), extent, prevention, and control of air pollution.? Projects that have been funded in the past include: air quality characterization studies, identification and investigation of air pollution sources, air quality monitoring baseline studies, and community education and outreach. Under Section 105 of the Clean Air Act, air quality control programs may be funded for ?implementing programs for the prevention and control of air pollution or implementation of national primary and secondary ambient air quality standards.? For the purpose of this section, "implementing" means any activity related to the planning, developing, establishing, carrying-out, improving, or maintaining of such programs.
