Oxygen-conducting SOFC and SOEC Research and Development for Hydrogen Production: Oxygen-conducting SOFC and SOEC Research and Development for Hydrogen Production. The Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management’s Hydrogen with Carbon Management Program invests in the advancement and utility-scale demonstration of clean hydrogen production and utilization technologies such as 100% hydrogen-fired turbines and reversible Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (R-SOFC) to support DOE’s Hydrogen Shot target. This FOA provides funding to develop low-cost, thermodynamically stable, high-temperature, oxygen-conducting, Reversible Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (R-SOFCs) systems.
