Program to Improve Capacity of an Indigenous Statutory Institution to Enhance Monitoring and Evaluation of HIV/AIDS in the Republic of South Africa as Part of the PEPFAR: Secretarys Forecast Summary CDC-RFA-PS06-614 CDCs Procurement and Grants Office has published a new funding opportunity entitled, "Program to Improve Capacity of an Indigenous Statutory Institution to Enhance Monitoring and Evaluation of HIV/AIDS in the Republic of South Africa as Part of the Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief." $3,150,000 will be available in FY2006 to fund one award to the South African HSRC to expand the capacity of South Africa to strengthen and use surveillance data, expand efforts to prevent mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) in private and public-sector health facilities in Quakeni District in the Eastern Cape Province, and conduct targeted evaluations in the area of interventions aimed at promoting behavioral risk-reduction for people living with HIV and AIDS.
