Project to Reduce Child Labor in Agriculture in Mexico: The Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL, or the Department, or we), announces the availability of approximately $7,000,000 total costs for one or more cooperative agreements to fund a technical assistance project(s) in Mexico to reduce child labor in targeted agricultural communities. The project will use an area-based approach in Oaxaca and one of the following states: Jalisco, Nayarit, Puebla, and Veracruz to achieve the following key outcomes:
• Key stakeholders increase their respect, promotion, and/or protection of labor rights, specifically related to child labor, acceptable conditions of work for those of legal working age, and benefits afforded to registered workers under the law;
• Children and adolescents engaged in or at high risk of entering child labor and their families increase their participation in relevant education, training, and social protection programs.
The duration of the project will be a maximum of 4 years (48 months) from the effective date of the award.
