Projects of National Significance: Emergency Preparedness Special Initiatives: The Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD) within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announces the availability of Fiscal Year (FY) 2010 funds to award grants to implement up to5 Emergency Preparedness Special Initiatives for persons with developmental disabilities. The Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000, P.L.106-402, 42SEC. 15081(2) authorizes ADD to "support the development of national and State policies that reinforce and promote, with the support of families, guardians, advocates, and communities, of individuals with developmental disabilities, the self-determination, independence, productivity, and integration and inclusion in all facets of community life of such individuals through- (D)(xii)initiatives that address other areas of emerging need.

The following entities are eligible to apply: Cerebral Palsy Association of Middlesex County, Inc., Edison, NJ; Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley, Dayton, OH; IPSII, Inc.,Richfield, MN; Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities,Washington, DC; Regents of The University of California, Los Angeles, CA; University of Delaware, Newark, DE; University of Hawaii, Honolulu, HI; University of New Mexico Health Science Center, Albuquerque, NM; University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC; University of Vermont, Burlington, VT; Utah State University, Logan, UT; and Wayne State University, Detroit, MI; Applications received for entities other than those listed will be deemed non-responsive and will not be considered for funding under this announcement. Faith-based and community organizations that meet eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement. Individuals and foreign entities are not eligible for awards made under this announcement.
