Protecting and Improving Public Health Globally: Building and Strengthening Public Health Impact, Systems,: CDC-RFA-GH15-1627: Protecting and Improving Public Health Globally: Building and Strengthening Public Health Impact, Systems, Capacity and Security The U.S. Government’s (USG) Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) envisions a world safe and securefrom global health threats posed by infectious diseases—where it is possible to prevent or mitigate theimpact of naturally occurring outbreaks and intentional or accidental releases of dangerous pathogens,rapidly detect and transparently report outbreaks when they occur, and employ an interconnected globalnetwork that can respond effectively to limit the spread of infectious disease outbreaks in humans andanimals, mitigate human suffering and the loss of human life, and reduce economic impact. Additional Information on Eligibility
In this next round of funding, applications are being solicited under this FOA to address needs in select countries. Special consideration will be given to Ministries of Health or bona fide agents in the following countries: Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Indonesia, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. However, CDC will accept applications from all Ministries of Health or bona fide agents that meet the eligibility criteria. Applicants cannot apply if previously awarded under CDC-RFA-GH15-1627 or CDC-RFA-GH14-1418 for similar activities; however, awardees may apply to expand efforts to include activities not included in their original application. In the initial round of funding, the FOA awarded funds for GHSA Phase I countries, Ebola affected, and other African countries that were high risk for the Ebola virus.
