Provide Cultural Landscape Preservation Assistance to National Parks in the Northeast Region: This is NOT a request for applications - this is an announcement that an award has already been given to SUNY for their assistance with providing cultural landscape preservation to the Northeast Region of the NPS. Specifically, SUNY will: - Provide parks in the Northeast Region with technical assistance related to the history, inventory, evaluation, and treatment of their cultural landscapes. - Support the work of the NPS Olmsted Center for Landscape Preservation in assisting parks with management of their cultural landscapes. - Provide SUNY ESF students with exposure to cultural landscape preservation in the National Park Service. - Provide summary reports on Section 106 advising to parks. - Develop documents pertaining to the site history, existing conditions, historical integrity and significance of cultural landscapes. - Provide summary report of cultural landscape preservation assistance to national parks. - Provide support for the Cultural Landscapes Inventory (CLI) program in the Northeast Region, including assisting OCLP with incorporation of research into CLIs. - Assist with the incorporation of cultural landscape data into the NPS Facilities Management Software System (FMSS). - Plan for a national-park based field school to educate students about cultural landscape preservation and park management in the National Park System. - Review OCLP preservation planning projects. - Revise and update previous research projects undertaken by SUNY ESF.
