Region 5 2007 Healthful Homes/Healthful Schools Grants: U.S. EPA Region 5 is soliciting Proposals from established asthma programs to support community based efforts to reduce the exposure of children with asthma to environmental asthma triggers in their homes and/or schools under the Clean Air Act (CAA) Section 103(b)(3). U.S. EPA recognizes the important work that is accomplished at the community level and has developed many resources to support community efforts that address the environmental management of asthma in homes and schools. This solicitation is designed to assist community-based efforts, either directly through grants to states or to community organizations, or by supporting school districts air programs, or State/tribal and regional asthma programs that provide mini-grants to community organizations. All entities that receive grant funds directly or through mini-grants must have an organized fiduciary agent that is recognized by state/tribal or regional asthma programs and meets all the requirements stated in Section III.
