Repair Burro Exclusion fencing & Restoration of Springs: Mojave National Preserve (MOJA) wishes to provide experience and training opportunities for the professional development of an early-career scientist through a project to repair the burro exclusion fences around ten of MOJAâ¿¿s springs. The fences must be repaired to prevent further damage to the ecology of these fragile desert wetlands and to restore the springs for use by native wildlife. Personnel from GBI and NPS will collaborate to repair the burro exclusion fencing and restore the fragile desert springs at Mojave National Preserve. This will be accomplished while providing mentorship and collaboration in education and conservation activities. The project will include hands-on restoration activities in a remote environment. In addition, the young professional will be provided opportunities to participate in other resource management projects.
