Revision Awards to Support AIDS-related Malignancies Research Training to Currently Funded AIDS International Training and Research Program Awards (D43): -Purpose. The FIC AIDS International Research and Training Program, in partnership with the NCI Office of AIDS Malignancy Program, is seeking competing revision (formerly called supplement) applications to currently funded AITRP grants at U.S. institutions to complement on-going or to expand research training related to HIV-associated malignancies in low- and middle-income countries. The applications should propose only research training and should be in sites in low-and middle-income countries in which researchers at the AITRP US institutions have existing research collaborations. -Mechanism of Support. This funding opportunity will support revision (formerly competing supplement) applications. to current AITRP (D43) Principal investigators who wish to add capacity to conduct research related to HIV/AIDS and cancer at sites in low-and middle-income countries in which researchers at the AITRP US institutions have existing research collaborations. Applicants may request a project period of up to the length of their existing parent award but not more than three years and a budget for direct costs up to $138,000 dollars per year with 8% F and A allowed. The anticipated start date will be September 2008. -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Funding available $1.75m from NCI for 11-12 awards.
