Strengthening Public Health Laboratory Systems in the Republic of Cameroon under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR): The activities under this FOA will focus on providing support to the Government of Cameroon, to build sustainable indigenous laboratory infrastructural and diagnostic human resource capacity across the tiered health system to include but not limited to: 1) Implementation of continuous quality improvement systems including key principles of the Rapid Testing Quality Improvement Initiative (RTQII) to support the diagnosis, treatment and management of HIV and HIV-related infections in PEPFAR supported districts; 2) Building capacity for and implementing Proficiency Testing to support Early Infant Diagnosis, HIV, CD4 and viral load testing and monitoring; 3) training and mentoring to build human resource capacity on biosafety and equipment maintenance; 4) supporting development and implementation of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to improve data collection and management; 5) Implementation of a robust sample referral network system.
