Support of Planning for Captain John Smith Chesapeake and Star-Spangled Banner NHTs and Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail: This is not an opportunity for for application; this is an announcement that an award has already been given to Potomac Concervancy, Inc., to help safeguard the lands and waters of the Potomac River and its tributaries and connect people to this national treasure. As such, the Potomac Conservancy Will: 1. Assist in identifying and assessing key trail-related resources, itineraries, facilities, and services associated with the segment, (Potomac River). 2. Assist NPS in identifying existing local, state, federal or non-governmental resource protection and resource management programs applicable to identified focus areas of the segment. 3. Work with Southern Maryland Heritage Areas Consortium to develop an interpretive strategy document for the Southern Maryland portion of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail.
