The Value of a Liberal Arts Education in the 21st Century: The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi (PAS New Delhi) seeks proposals for a project entitled “The Value of a Liberal Arts Education in the 21st Century.” This project will consist of a two-day workshop and a series of roundtables in educational leaders from both the United States and India along with relevant corporate sector employers to discuss the relevance and merits of a liberal arts education for Indian undergraduates and draft a white paper outlining the program's deliberations and suggestions on how to move forward to include elements of liberal arts in their programs. The end product will be a white paper that would be presented to the University Grants Commission (UGC), the part of the Ministry of Human Resource Development responsible for establishing and enforcing standards for post-secondary educational institutions in India.
