Youth Provide Visitor Service & Conduct Outreach to Diverse Com: Master Cooperative Agreement Number P15AC00031 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (NPS), and The Student Conservation Association (SCA) to build the next generation of conservation leaders and inspire lifelong stewardship of our environment and communities by engaging young people in hands-on service to the land through service opportunities, outdoor skills, and leadership training.Four interns will be introduced to the nine park sites in Manhattan - their missions and resources - and they will work along with park staff to design and deliver programs that are relevant to their peers and new park visitors. These interns will learn skills and gain knowledge that they can then help share with park visitors. The Interns will assist park rangers and volunteers in providing visitor services at historic sites and park contact stations through formal and informal interpretation. They will conduct outreach to diverse communities surrounding the park sites for the purpose of reaching new audiences. They will develop and deliver a variety of programs that appeal to young audiences and use photography and social media to share program highlights.
