Zeta Phi Beta Sorority 2016 Grand Boule: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to issue a Single Source Grant Agreement Award without competition to the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (Zeta) to sponsor Zeta⿿s 2016 Grand Boulé.
This sponsorship will enable the Service to raise awareness of the positive impacts of outdoors recreation among African-Americans, and promote access to and enjoyment of federal lands and waters for outdoor recreation use; develop targeted engagement between Zeta chapters and FWS facilities throughout the nation, particularly in urban areas; and help build a cadre of young African Americans seeking careers in wildlife conservation, including biological sciences.
Zeta is uniquely positioned to assist the Service in its efforts to actively engage the African-American community because of its role as a national community leader and service organization, and because of its historic links to local African-American churches, civil rights organizations, the African-American press, and its network of collegiate chapters throughout Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
There will be one single source grant awarded for $15,000 to Zeta for sponsorship of its Boulé. Funds under this grant agreement are to be used for education and outreach engagement to Sigma members, as well as to raise awareness about the Service and its public lands.
Under this award, the Recipient will: Assist with and provide administration and oversight of Service integration and participation at the Boulé; provide opportunities for Service staff to engage with Zeta leadership and members at the Boulé venue; provide a speaking opportunity for Service staff during a Boulé event; provide Service branding throughout the Boulé venue; provide a booth/table space to the Service for purposes of engaging Boulé attendees; and provide the Service a full-color acknowledgement in the Boulé Journal.
Under this award, the Service will: Participate and collaborate jointly with the applicant in carrying out the scope of work; recruitment Service staff to participate in the program; provide information about internships, jobs and careers in the Service; provide information about Service managed public lands and recreational opportunities to Boulé attendees; and raise awareness about future partnership opportunities with Boulé attendees.
The project period of this award begins on the date of the signing of the notice of award letter and ends on August 31, 2016.
