BJA FY 22 Veterans Treatment Court Discretionary Grant Program: OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. The Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) Grant Program provides financial and technical assistance to states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized Indian tribal governments to implement and enhance the operations of veterans treatment courts.

For Category 1: Planning and Implementation and Category 2: Enhancement the following entities are eligible to apply: State governments City or township governments County governments Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized) Other State, city, township, county, or tribal government acting directly or through agreements with other public or private entities on behalf of a single drug court For Category 3: Statewide, the following entities are eligible to apply:  State agencies such as the State Administering Agency, the Administrative Office of the Courts, and the State Substance Abuse Agency State criminal justice agencies and other state agencies involved with the provision of substance use and/or mental health services, or related services, to veterans in the criminal justice system For purposes of this solicitation, “state” means any state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.   See Eligibility section
