Eligible applicants include irrigation and/or water districts, state governmental entities with water management authority (e.g. state agencies, departments, boards, etc), tribal water authorities, local public agencies, (cities, counties, cities and counties, joint powers authorities, or other political subdivisions of California), and other entities created under state law with water delivery authority, which may include water user associations, water conservation districts, canal, ditch, and reservoir companies, and municipal water authorities.
Grant Description
The mission of the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) is to manage, develop, and protect water and related resources in an environmentally and economically sound manner in the interest of the American public. The CALFED Water Use Efficiency Grant Program will fund feasible urban and agricultural projects that improve ecosystem health, water supply reliability or water quality of the California Bay-Delta through water use efficiency and conservation.
