Competition for a Cooperative Institute for the Pacific Northwest and Polar Regions: The NOAA Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR) invites applications for the establishment of a Cooperative Institute (CI) for the Pacific Northwest and Polar Regions. The proposed CI will support NOAA's strategic goals and missions in the areas of climate change, weather forecasting, ocean acidification, marine ecosystems and ocean observations, fisheries assessments, aquaculture, tsunami forecasting, earth system processes, environmental data management and human dimension research related to marine systems, and Polar studies. Additionally, the CI will promote undergraduate, graduate student and postdoctoral support in research projects in ways to train the next generation of scientists and NOAA employees.
