- This financial assistance opportunity is being issued under a Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Program. CESUs are partnerships that provide research, technical assistance, and education. Eligible recipients must be a participating partner of the Great Rivers Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Program.
- Grant Description
- The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to develop the Mid-west Oak Woodland and Forest Fire Consortia. The Mid-west Oak Woodland and Forest Fire Consortium (MOWFFC) will promote the dissemination of fire information across the interior US and to focus on fire information needs of oak-dominated communities such as woodlands, forests, savannas, and barrens. This consortium will disseminate fire information, connect fire professionals, and efficiently address fire issues within our region. The purpose of this project is to develop a proposal for the Joint Fire Science Program that will outline a two year plan for the development and implementation of the (MWOWFFC). The proposal is due to the Joint Fire Science Program by September 30th 2011.
