- Grant Description
- The USGS is offering a funding opportunity for research to quantify the regional effects of climate changes on the timing, quantity and distribution of glacier runoff to the Gulf of Alaska. The research will provide a framework for mapping present and projecting future effects of changes in glacier runoff on Gulf of Alaska ecosystems. The project will be structured around a detailed conceptual system model that will provide managers with a wide range of decision support tools to inform resource conservation efforts. In particular, will identify key areas that are particularly sensitive to future changes in glacier volume loss and increased freshwater discharge.
