Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, Rocky Mountain CESU: The US Geological Survey, Northern Rocky Mountain Science Center (NOROCK), is offering a funding opportunity to evaluate and attempt to combine multiple datasets in order to estimate the risk of transmission from elk to cattle and how that varies in space and time. Additionally, to work towards predicting the future spread of brucellosis across the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Note that many of the datasets have already been collected, or are currently being collected, but they have not been combined in a quantitative format. In particular, we are interested in combing data on elk space use patterns during the spring and summer periods with elk seroprevalence, abundance data as well as timing of abortion events to estimate the number of expected elk abortions that occur in different areas.
