Coordinating seasonal dams with Migration timing and passage of Pacific Lamprey: Funds under this Single Source Cooperative Agreement award will be used to improve passage for Pacific Lamprey and address one of the primary threats facing the species. More specifically this project will look at the effects of seasonal dams on Pacific Lamprey migration and approaches that can be applied to resolve these passage issues. This project will focus on the following objectives: 1. Assess the general constraints created by seasonal dams on migrating and over-summering Pacific Lamprey in California and specifically in the Russian River. 2. Assess mainstem dams in the Russian River for lamprey passage. 3. Develop monitoring and census strategies for the migration of adult Pacific Lamprey, specifically in the Russian River, but generally applicable range-wide. 4. Host a passage workshop for managers and other stakeholders in the Russian River drainage.
