In-Country English Access Microscholarship Program: The Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad seeks outstanding proposals for the English Access Microscholarship Program (Access). The successful grantee will develop a program to provide foundational English language skills to 75 bright, economically disadvantaged students, primarily between the ages of 13 to 20, in Pakistan. Not only will the Access program provide participants with English language skills, it will also deliver leadership and confidence-building skills that may lead to better jobs and educational prospects for the students. Participants also will improve their ability to compete for and participate in future U.S. exchange and study programs. The foundation in English will be created through 360 hours of after-school instruction and intensive summer and winter sessions, to raise the students' English level on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale from A to B. This award will be contingent on funding availability.
