Landbird Monitoring - Klamath Network Parks: United State Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS) Notice of Intent to Award. This is not a request for applications. This funding opportunity is to provide public notice of NPS's intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition to Klamath Bird Observatory (KBO), to collaboratively work with the NPS and continue the long term partnership that promotes natural resource stewardship, outreach, and education. The applicant is uniquely qualified to perform the activity based upon a variety of demonstrable factors such as location, cost-sharing ability if applicable, technical expertise, or other such unique qualifications. Additionally, KBO is a long-term key partner in resource management projects with the National Park Service. Klamath Bird Observatory is the premiere ornithological science organization the Klamath Region, with 20 years of observational research, inventory, monitoring, and science communication. No other entity exists in our region with comparable capabilities for avian monitoring. Moreover, the standardized methods, databases, and locally knowledgeable staff allow KBO to serve as an interagency catalyst to better integrate NPS science efforts with those of other state and federal agencies in the Klamath Region.
