MDMA: Research Areas Needing More Emphasis (R21): -This FOA is designed to increase the scope of NIDA s MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine) research portfolio, in order to provide an optimally comprehensive, strategic, and balanced MDMA research program. Clinical and preclinical research is needed. -This FOA will use the NIH Exploratory/Developmental (R21) grant mechanism and runs in parallel with a FOA of identical scientific scope, PA-06-524, that solicits applications under the R03 and PA-04-152 that solicits applications under the R01 mechanism. -Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
