Management of English Language Small Grants Program (ELSGP): The U.S. Embassy Tashkent Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations or institutions to submit applications to manage and implement the Embassy's English Language Small Grants Program (ELSGP). The ELSGP aims to promote and improve English language education across Uzbekistan through innovative and creative programming proposed by individuals and organizations. In consultation with PAS, the successful applicant will manage the ELSGP fully, including promoting it, accepting and reviewing grant proposals, corresponding with applicants, managing payments and financial records, and monitoring and evaluating the programs. The successful applicant will also manage travel grants for English Language teachers, faculty and other professionals to attend conferences, workshops, and other professional development activities approved in consultation with PAS. Applications for ELSGP must support initiatives such as:· improving the quality of English Language teaching and learning in the country;· identifying key factors that promote innovative and interactive English teaching methods;· training new generations of English Language teachers;· motivating students to excel at English learning; and· establishing English programs that support economic growth and development. - The U.S. Embassy Tashkent encourages applications from U.S. and Uzbekistan registered not-for-profit, civil society/non-governmental organizations, and educational institutions with at least three years of programming experience in administering educational programs and/or teaching English. In consultation with the Embassy, the grantee is responsible for advertising the ELSGP funding opportunity, vetting applications, communicating with applicants, managing the full grant process with multiple applicants, financial reporting, and monitoring and evaluation of the approved ELSGP grants. Organizations with previous experience and a capacity of working with educational institutions and governmental organizations on a national level will be given priority. This experience should be documented in the organization's proposal. A copy of the organization's registration should be provided with the proposal application. U.S.-based organizations should submit a copy of their IRS determination letter. Uzbekistan-based organizations should submit a copy of their certificate of registration from the appropriate government organization.
