NPS Interpretation, Education and Volunteers Business Plan 2014: The National Park Service is approaching its centennial in 2016 with a service-wide renewal and recommitment to its founding vision. At the same time, the Park Service is seeking to seize new opportunities for relevance, education, visibility, and stewardship through relevant technologies and collaboration with partners. This Cooperative task agreement will focus on the development and launch of a process that aligns business planning with educational programming, ultimately offering a suite of options and recommendations for high-impact educational programming based on innovative funding models. The Park Service has already set out an interdisciplinary strategy for moving ahead in the Second Century. Now it is looking to design a business model that will serve this overall strategy. The Institute at the Golden Gate (Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy is the Institute¿s nonprofit parent organization) is well positioned to support this process. As a current cooperating partner of the Park Service with a track record of supporting innovative policy and practice in areas such as ¿park prescriptions¿ and sustainable food systems, the Institute has a commitment to partnerships and business thinking to achieve strong results.
