Grant Description
The U. S. Department of Energy (DOE) annouces the FY 2004 Nuclear Energy Protocol for Research Isotopes (NEPRI). This is an annual process by which DOE determines the isotopes needed by the research community to explore and develop new and innovative uses for isotopes. The goal of NEPRI is to generate a list of research isotopes that DOE will consider producing in FY04 (starting Oct 1, 2003). The Department asks that members of the reserch community to complete a NEPRI Pre-Order Form. The Pre-Order Form requests information with regard to what isotopes are needed, quantity required, approximate date of delivery, and how these isotopes support the goals of the research program. This is a peer-review process designed to assure DOE produces those isotopes that will return the most benefit to the research community and general public. The Pre-Order Form is to be mailed during March 2003, to past subscribers, customers, and interested researchers. The completed form must be returned no later than close of business June 20, 2003. The Pre-Order form will also be posted at http://www.ornl.gov/isotopes/catalog.htm, for those who wish to submit the form electroically. All researchers interested in having DOE produce their isotopes in FY04 are strongly encouraged to submit a complete Pre-Order form. Failure to do so may mean your isotope will not be produced in FY04. We intend to publish the NEPRI list of research isotopes during the third week of July 2003. Orders for these isotopes may be placed after that date but no later than close of business September 19, 2003. For more information with regard to NEPRI, or to obtain a Pre-Order Form, contact : Isotope Business Office Oak Ridge National Laboratory P.O.Box 2008, Bldg 7606A Oak Ridge, TN 37831-6426 Tel: (865) 574-6984 FAX: (865) 574-6986 Email: isotopes@ornl.gov http://www.ornl.gov/isotopes/catalog.htm
