Additional Information on Eligibility: Eligible applicants are the four U.S. territories of Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands; the three Freely Associated States of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau; and any organizations whose mission directly benefits these seven insular areas.
Grant Description: The Office of Insular Affairs is soliciting project proposals for its Maintenance Assistance (MA) program which provides funding for short-term projects that meet the immediate needs of the seven insular areas under the Office of Insular Affairs' jurisdiction. Specifically, MA funding is used to promote and develop insular institutions and capabilities that improve the operation and maintenance of island infrastructure in the seven insular areas. Activities that are eligible for funding through the MA program include analysis/studies, capital improvement planning, programs/systems, specialized equipment and tools, and expertise (management and technical).
