Pocket Guide to the Potomac River Segment of the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail (CAJO): This is NOT a request for applications. This is just an announcement that the Maryland Department of Planning on behalf of the Maryland Historical Trust has already received an award for their work on the Pocket Guide to the Potomac River Segment of the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail (CAJO).
Specifically, Maryland Historical Trust is responsible for working with NPS to be sure that all products are integrated with the Captain John Smith Chesapeake NHT to develop and produce the following:
Pocket Guide to the Potomac River Segment of the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail – including a fold-out map and guide that will serve the interpretive needs and objectives of historical museums, societies, parks and outfitters along the Potomac River as they help tell the stories of the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail.
The pocket guide will draw on historical and travel content, images, maps developed for the Pocket Guide to the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail. The product will be an easy-to-use fold-out companion piece, describing in greater detail the best places and activities along the Potomac River segment. The smaller geographic scope of this project will enable a greater depth of information to be covered, enabling users to plan their visit to this region based on the guide. The pocket guide will be available at no cost at partner sites and information distribution centers identified in the guide. It will also be available to download online.
