Staff Mentorship to the Somali National Army (SNA) HQ and SNA-Danab: The United States has supported SNA-Danab logistically and operationally for over a decade. The SNA has come to rely heavily on the expertise of the SNA-Danab to lead and plan operations. At the same time, the African Union Training Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has begun the process of transitioning its mission to the SNA.
