Study of the United States Institutes for Student Leaders from the Western Hemisphere: The Branch for the Study of the United States, Office of Academic Exchange Programs, announces an open competition for six Study of the United States Institutes for Student Leaders from selected countries of the Western Hemisphere, a series of five-week academic programs, three of which will take place at three distinct host institutions during January and February 2008, while the remaining three will take place at three distinct host institutions during June, July, and August 2008. Each Institute should be similar in structure and content, take place at accredited post-secondary education institutions, and provide a group of up to 20 highly motivated undergraduate students from the Western Hemisphere with an integrated academic and educational travel program that will give them a deeper understanding of U.S. society and culture, while enhancing their leadership skills.
