- Assist with development of a scientific report "The Northern Goshawk in California: a technical assessment of its current status and ecology" by writing specific chapters or portions of chapters, and providing review and editing services. Specific Tasks Include: Following formats provided by FWS, write section (Chapter 2) providing basic introduction to goshawks in North America and specifically in California; physical description, taxonomy, breeding behavior/chronology, etc. Write chapter section on potential influence of climate change on goshawks and their management. Participate in development of introduction to entire Assessment Review draft chapters and provide comments/suggested revisions, collaborate with revisions of specific sections C. SPECIFIC WORK PRODUCTS 1) Draft Chapter: Introduction to the goshawk 2) Draft sections: goshawks as umbrella species, influence of climate change, comparison of North American versus European literature on goshawk ecology 3) Timely review of draft chapters
