Turkish Student Teacher Internship Project: The Office of Global Educational Programs of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces an open competition for the Turkish Student Teacher Internship Project. U.S. public and private universities meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3) may submit proposals to administer an eight-week professional development program for graduate students of education from Turkey beginning in January 2008. The focus of the program is to familiarize participants with U.S. student-centered teaching methods and the use of technology in the classroom. The exchange experience should also give Turkish participants an in-depth experience of American life and culture and contribute to mutual understanding between Turkey and the United States.
