U.S.-Poland Parliamentary Youth Exchange Program: The Office of Citizen Exchanges, Youth Programs Division (ECA/PE/C/PY), of the Department of State‟s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces an open competition for the U.S.-Poland Parliamentary Youth Exchange Program (US-PPYX). Public and private non-profit organizations meeting the provisions described in Internal Revenue Code section 26 USC 501(c)(3) may submit a proposal to facilitate a reciprocal educational exchange program for secondary school students from the United States and Poland who will spend one academic year in the host country, living with American and Polish host families and attending school. It is the Bureau‟s intent to award a FY 2012 cooperative agreement to one recipient to support start up costs for an academic year study and homestay program for approximately 5 American and 5 Polish students in academic year 2013-14; it will also support a three-to-four week program in the United states for approximately five Polish students in fall 2012 which will include host family stays, school attendance and a volunteer service and civics educational activity within the host community. Pending successful implementation of the program and the availability of funds, the Bureau intends to renew the cooperative agreement to support the academic year program model for two additional fiscal years. Please see section II.) Award Information, below for additional details.
