2012 Mathematical Multifaceted Integrated Capability Centers (MMICCs): The Office of Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) of the Office of Science (SC), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), hereby invites applications for basic research that addresses grand challenges of increasing complexity within DOE?s mission areas of energy, environment and security, from a mathematical perspective that require new integrated, iterative processes across multiple mathematical disciplines. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) will holistically address mathematics for increasingly complex DOE-relevant systems for scientific discovery, design, optimization and risk assessment ? this will be achieved through Mathematical Multifaceted Integrated Capability Centers (MMICCs). The full text of the FOA is located on FedConnect. Instructions for completing the Grant Application Package are contained in the full text of the FOA which can be obtained at: https://www.fedconnect.net/FedConnect/?doc=DE-FOA-0000698&agency=DOE A companion Program Announcement to DOE National Laboratories, LAB 12-698, will be posted on the SC Grants and Contracts web site at: http://www.science.doe.gov/grants
