Additional Information on Eligibility
By statute, awards will be made only to agencies of State Governments. If the applicant is not a State Unit on Aging, the applicant agency must have the support and active involvement of the State Unit on Aging.
Grant Description
This Program Announcement provides an opportunity for states to demonstrate how existing evidence-based service interventions that help people with ADRD to remain in the community can be translated into effective programs that administered at the community level through the Aging Services Network and its partner organizations. Applications will be accepted from all agencies of State Government, which includes but is not limited to State Units on Aging (SUAs). The Administration on Aging (AoA) plans to award approximately 8 to 10 cooperative agreements under this Announcement, with an average award of approximately $800,000 to cover a three year project period. AoA is simultaneously issuing two (2) ADDGS Program Announcements that provide states with an opportunity to secure FY2008 grant funds to improve the delivery of services and supports to people with dementia: %900 Evidence-Based Intervention Grants to Better Serve People with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD): HHS-2008-AE-0812. %900 Innovative Grant Projects to Better Serve People with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders: HHS-2008-AoA-AI-0813. States can apply for grants under either one or under both of these ADDGS Announcements.
