Antietam National Battlefield-education Program I: Modification to add funding to complete the below statement of work:B. Add to Article IV, Statement of Work: In accordance with NPS directors Order 44 paragraph 3.14, “Employees of grantees, contractors, and subcontractors are authorized to use Government motor vehicles (including vehicles provided by the Fleet Management Centers). They may use such vehicles solely in the performance of the work authorized under such Government grants, contracts, and subcontracts, and provided that: Grantees, contractors, and subcontractors have established and will enforce suitable penalties for their employees who willfully use or authorize the use of Government motor vehicles for other than official purposes; and Appropriate provision is made for the assumptions by the grantee, contractor, or subcontractor of any cost or expense incident to any use not related to the performance of the grant, contract, or subcontract, and such assumption of cost or expense will be without the right of reimbursement from the Government”.The interns' primary duties will be to assist in development of new Parks as Classrooms at ANTI and to work with neighboring schools to increase student visitation to the battlefield (50%). This project will also expand Youth and Family programming year round at ANTI. The interns will present curriculum-based programs to students and a variety of summer youth groups. The interns will operate a Youth Activities Tent in the summer at ANTI.The interns will work at the park visitor center presenting 30-minute Battlefield Orientation Talks, working the information desk, providing informal interpretation, and presenting living history programs (25%). The interns will present over twelve different types of hands-on, curriculum-based, Parks as Classrooms programs to students in preschool through college (25%). The interns will be responsible for responding to inquiries from teachers and scheduling on and off-site field trips for the education staff.Main duties: Work with local schools, students, and visiting youth to provide education opportunities and activities. Other Duties: Research, develop and present interpretive programs. Serve audiences of students K-12 and/or summer youth groups. Present third-person, living history interpretation.Study assigned research materials.
