Ash Springs Recreation Site Project: This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the Bureau of Land Management's intention to fund the following project activities without full and open competition. The Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), State of Nevada, and the Great Basin Institute will continue their partnership established in the prior cooperative agreement 2003 to promote environmental research, education and conservation throughout the west with particular focus on resource management in the Great Basin. This collaboration provides an outlet for young professionals to obtain training and "on the ground" experience in data collection and analysis, small site restoration, trail initiation and maintenance as well as monitoring throughout Nevada. This is a continuing project between the BLM and the Great Basin Institute for a Round 6 SNPLMA project that was awarded the Ely Field Office of the BLM for improvements to the Ash Springs recreation site. The specific objectives of the project are for collaboration with the following: Facilitation with project implementation; Facilitate with Public outreach and involvement; Assist with data collection; Assist with planning, analysis and implementation of improvements; Assist with preparation of reports.
