Building Mathematical Modeling Workforce Capacity to Support Infectious Disease and Healthcare Research: The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity is to support pre-doctoral fellows' innovative research to develop and apply computational tools and mathematical methods for modeling the spread of pathogens in healthcare settings (e.g., SARS-CoV-2, healthcare-associated infections [HAIs], antimicrobial resistant organisms [AROs]). This NOFO is intended to increase the number of junior modeling professionals that are trained and experienced in modeling transmission of pathogens in healthcare settings and to contribute to generalizable scientific knowledge through dissemination (e.g., pre-prints, peer-reviewed studies, scientific presentations). The application should be written by the PI/mentor who may or may not name specific pre-doctoral student(s) to conduct the research at the time of application submission.
