Condition Assessment Methodology: Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA): Condition Asset Methodology/Condition Assessment Methodology Research. FTA is seeking to fund two separate projects to comprehensively address transit asset management. Applicants may apply for one or both projects. FTA has a total of $1.4 million in funding for both projects. FTA expects that the two projects are roughly equal in scope. FTA is seeking two proposals to develop 1) a manual for transit asset management and 2) to explore methods for using maintenance data to populate higher-level asset inventories. These two projects are intended to complement each other and provide an overall framework for asset management at transit agencies. The first project will develop and document a framework for transit asset management similar to AASHTO's guidance for highway asset management. The second project will be an investigation of the potential to integrate existing maintenance management systems with higher-level asset management inventories in conjunction with an urban transit rail system. DATES: An applicant must submit a proposal electronically to http://www.grants.gov/ by December 30, 2010 for consideration. The applicant should also e-mail an electronic copy of the proposal to the FTA Project Manager. FTA expects to award funds through a cooperative agreement in early 2011 which will allow for a 1-year execution of all phases of the project, including the final project report.FOR FURTHER INFORMATION CONTACT: Technical, program management and cooperative agreement administrative questions should be directed to Mr. Terrell Williams, Office of Technology via phone at 202-366-0232, via e-mail to [email protected].
