- Grant Description
- The Corporation for National and Community Service (hereinafter the Corporation) announces the availability of approximately $5,100,000 to award Engaging Persons with Disabilities in National and Community Service Grants. The Corporation expects to make 1 to 5 awards that range in amounts from approximately $1,000,000 to $5,100,000 covering a period not to exceed three years. The purpose of these grants is to fund innovative national or regional (operating in at least three or more states) partnership models in which persons with disabilities are engaged in service that results in a measurable impact on the community served. This grant opportunity will engage more Americans with disabilities in national and community service. The Corporation is specifically interested in the following categories: Using service as a strategy to assist in the transition of young persons with disabilities from school to adult life. Providing adults with disabilities, preferably disabled veterans, the opportunity to engage in service. The Corporation wants to ensure that all eligible organizations are able to compete on an equal basis for federal financial assistance. The Corporation encourages all eligible public and private non-profit organizations, including faith-based and other community-based organizations, to apply. The deadline for eGrants submissions is 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on April 12, 2005.
