WHO MAY APPLY The 53 State agencies that administer the Food Stamp Program, State or local governments, agencies providing health or welfare services, public health or educational entities and private nonprofit entities such as community-based or faith based organizations, food banks, or other emergency feeding organizations may apply. Grant Description
In accordance with Public Law 107-171, the Food and Nutrition Service is soliciting grant applications for the FY 2006 FSP Participation Program. A total of $5 million is available to eligible applicants. The purpose of this grant competition is to support efforts by State agencies and their community-based and faith-based partners to develop and implement:. Simple food stamp application and eligibility determination systems; or. Measures to improve access to food stamp benefits by eligible applicants.
